Content ratings and safety
What the Safe, Moderate and Mature ratings mean, who can see Mature content, how content strictness works and how we keep RPGCortex safe.
Scenario ratings#
Every shared scenario carries a content rating badge:

| Safe (PG) | Suitable for a general audience. |
| Moderate (PG-13) | May include some more mature themes. |
| Mature (R) | Adult themes. Only for players 18 and over. |
| Unrated | Not rated yet — treated as Mature. |
Ratings are set by an automatic check when an author shares a scenario, and moderators review scenarios before they're listed in Discover. Authors can ask for a manual review if they think a rating is wrong. See Publishing, visibility and content ratings.
You can filter Discover by rating under Filters → Content Rating.
Who can see Mature content#
You must be at least 13 to sign up (under-18s need a parent or guardian's permission — see our Terms of Service). Access to Mature content is based on the birthdate you gave when you signed up:
- 18 and over: Mature scenarios are available automatically.
- Under 18: you'll only see Safe and Moderate scenarios anywhere in the app — Mature and Unrated ones are hidden, and the Mature content strictness level isn't available.
There's no separate switch to turn Mature content on. You can check your status in Settings → Content.
Content strictness: how the AI writes#
A scenario's rating describes the scenario. AI content strictness controls how the AI writes your story as it goes:
- Safe — prevents sexual, hateful, violent, or triggering content.
- Moderate — limits explicit sexual content, hate, or self-harm. The default.
- Mature — mature, violent, or triggering content is not limited. Adults only.
Set your default in Settings → Content, and override it for a single adventure in the adventure's Settings → Scenario → Details. In a multiplayer adventure, the host's setting is used for everyone. See Account settings and profile.
How we keep things safe#
- Story safety check. Every AI response is checked as it's written. Content that sexualizes minors is never allowed, at any rating or strictness level. If a response crosses that line, the rest of it is withheld and you'll see "The story can't continue in this direction — try a different action."
- Images are checked the same way before they're generated. A blocked image shows as "Image couldn't be generated for this turn." and isn't charged.
- Comments and messages are reviewed automatically, and anything concerning is passed to our team.
- Reports from players are reviewed by our team. See Reporting and blocking.
Accounts that break our Terms of Service can be restricted from posting new content, or suspended.
