Friends, messages and notifications

Add friends with a friend link, message them, and keep up with invites and activity from the Social panel.

Adding friends#

Friends are added with a one-time friend link — there's no username search.

  1. Open Friends (from the Social panel's Manage friends button, described below).
  2. Under Friend Link, press Copy friend link and send the link to your friend however you like.
  3. When they open it while signed in, you become friends straight away.

If someone sends you a link or code, you can also paste it under Add a Friend and press Add.

Your friend list shows who's 🟢 Online. Friends are who you can invite into multiplayer adventures — see Playing with friends.

The Social panel#

Press the 🔔 bell in the top bar to open the Social panel. The badge on the bell counts unread notifications and pending invites. It has three tabs:

  • Social — your Inbox, your friend link and your friend list.
  • Activity — your latest notifications, with Mark all read. These include things like adventure invites, "It's your turn", news about scenarios you've written, report outcomes and resolved support tickets.
  • Invites — adventure invitations from friends, each with Accept or Decline.

Private messages#

The Inbox holds one-to-one conversations with your friends. Open it from the Inbox card in the Social panel, or click a friend in your list. Messages can be up to 2,000 characters. You can only message people who are on your friends list.

Inside an adventure, the Chat button in the header gives you the same private Messages, plus a Group Chat tab for everyone at the table.

Your profile and play history#

Profile (the avatar menu on desktop, the bottom bar on phones) shows your display name, a Your Play History summary and four tabs: Scenarios (ones you've created), Scripts, Bookmarks and Updates.

Press See details → for the full play history page. It includes a calendar heatmap of your activity (Last 30 days, Past year or All time), your streaks, your busiest days and Your longest tales. Click any day to see which adventures you played. Play history is private to you.

What's New#

Open the ☰ menu and choose What's New for announcements from the RPGCortex team. A badge shows how many you haven't seen yet.
