What is RPGCortex?
An AI storyteller with a real game-state layer underneath — here's what that means and how the pieces fit together.
RPGCortex is interactive fiction powered by AI. You describe what your character does or says, and an AI narrator writes what happens next. You can take the story anywhere, in any genre, and it keeps going for as long as you do.
What makes RPGCortex different is what sits under the prose: a persistent game state. The app keeps track of the things a story tends to forget — who your character is, what they're carrying, their stats, the people and places you've met and your active quests — and hands that to the AI on every turn so the world stays consistent.
The main ideas#
Scenarios are the starting points. A scenario is a premise written by someone (maybe you): an opening scene, facts about the world, instructions for the AI and a set of State Cards. Browse them on Home and Discover, or write your own with New Scenario.
Adventures are your playthroughs. Start a scenario and you get an adventure of your own. Everything you play is saved automatically and listed on the Saves page.
Turns are how the story moves. You open the composer with Your move and pick an action type (Do, Say, Story, Guide or See), or press Continue to let the AI carry on. See The command bar: taking turns.
State Cards are the story's memory for people, places, items and more. Each card has trigger words; when those words come up, the card's details are sent to the AI. See State Cards.
Branching timelines. Every passage can be edited, and you can rewind to any point and try again. Nothing is thrown away — the old path stays reachable as a branch. See Editing, undo and branching timelines.
Two ways to play#
Every scenario is one of two kinds, set by its author:

Playing alone or together#
Most adventures are solo, but you can invite up to three friends into an adventure and take turns telling the story together. See Playing with friends.
What it costs#
RPGCortex has a free plan, Novice, and four paid plans that unlock stronger AI models, more context (how much of the story the AI can "see" at once) and a larger Memory Bank.
